The Basics of Residential Solar

Focus On… Texas 4000

On May 20, University of Texas students embarked on a 70-day, 4,000-mile bike ride from Austin, Texas, to Anchorage, Alaska, to raise funds for and support the fight against cancer. Beginning 18 months prior to the ride, called the Texas 4000, each student trains for the race, raises $4,500, completes 50 volunteer hours, and maps out each element of their approaching adventure.

Focus On... Tradition

Jingle in the holidays with a dramatic life-size gingerbread display that has greeted guests at the The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs for more than 50 years. It all started somewhat simply back in 1964 with over-the-top, but more traditionally sized, gingerbread houses. Those expanded until 2013 when the gingerbread display became life-size.

These days, it takes hundreds of hours and more than 2,000 pounds of ingredients to create the Broadmoor’s gingerbread display each holiday season.

On December 5, 2021, Hailey Frederiksen of Wellington, representing the Centennial State as Miss Rodeo Colorado, was crowned Miss Rodeo America 2022. The daughter of Trevin and Megan Frederiksen grew up on her family’s ranch, in Poudre Valley REA’s territory, where she loved riding horses.
